Gina is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia (PBA) and a full member of the Australian Psychological Society. Gina holds multiple degrees in teaching and psychology and has received training in approaches such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Mindfulness, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Motivational Interviewing. Gina was a member of the Autism and Pervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD) Identified Practitioners List.
Gina has worked with young children, adolescents and parents for many years in a variety of settings including private practice, disability services, schools and highly specialised child protection settings. This experience facilitates a capacity to offer services for complex and challenging presentations including: dual diagnosis, developmental trauma, self-harm and suicide.
Gina has extensive clinical experience in the assessment and treatment of a wide range of difficulties including developmental delays, learning and behavioural difficulties, anxiety and depression. She has a long held interest in trauma and her research focused on the long term impact of non optimal childhood experiences and factors which influence the development of PTSD symptoms.
Gina has special interest, training and experience in chronic health presentations including Inflammatory Bowel Disease and weight management issues. She is particularly interested in the applicability of Lifestyle Medicine to Mental Health presentations and has been focused on the links between nutrition and mental health outcomes.
Gina is skilled in a range of therapeutic techniques and parenting programs. Gina has delivered programs such as Parents as Teachers (PAT) and the Positive Parenting Program (PPP) and established an intensive local family based support service (Brighter Futures) during her position with a government agency.
Gina has developed and implemented training packages for a wide range of audiences. She has trained child protection caseworkers in policy and procedures, trained multi-level government staff about psychological disorders or presenting issues such as trauma, suicide and self harm, behaviour management and client motivation. Gina has been involved in the delivery of Train the Trainer programs within a large government organisation, and has developed and implemented staff training for non government agencies involved in service provision for children and young people.

This includes refugee families, children living in a highly restrictive containment unit, children who have Parental Responsibility to the Minister, families who are homeless, children who self harm or are experiencing suicidal thoughts and young people struggling with addiction or significant mental illness.
